45th Solid State Chemistry Group Christmas Meeting and
Early Career Researcher Meeting

The University of Oxford is pleased to host the 45th RSC Solid State Chemistry Group (SSCG) Christmas Meeting and the Early Career Researcher (ECR) Meeting as a combined event in December 2026.

Held over three days, the ECR Meeting will begin at noon on 15 December and conclude at noon on 16 December, providing a supportive platform for emerging researchers to present their work, exchange ideas, and build professional networks. This will be followed by the SSCG Christmas Meeting, running from noon on 16 December until the afternoon of 17 December, showcasing cutting-edge research from across the solid-state chemistry community.

  • Abstract submission

    Abstract submission will be open soon.

    We welcome contributions from all members of the solid-state chemistry community, particularly early-career researchers and PhD students.

    Submissions for the ECR Meeting are encouraged from those normally up to 6 years post-PhD and not in an independent/academic position.

  • Registration

    Register by Monday 7 December

    Registration fees:

    Student RSC member: £100
    Student non-member: £120
    RSC member: £170
    Non-member: £190

    Registration fees include access to all presentations, refreshments, poster session drinks reception, and the Christmas Meeting Dinner on Wednesday 16th December

  • Programme

    The ECR Meeting will be held from Tuesday lunch time to Wednesday lunch time, with the SSCG Christmas Meeting commencing Wednesday lunch time and closing Thursday lunch time. 

    The poster session drinks reception followed by the meeting dinner will be held on Wednesday evening.

By Train
